Why Adidas is the New Nike

If Kanye is switching over to Adidas, so am I, and so is the rest of the population, if they know what’s good for them. Imma let you finish but first, let’s get one thing straight: we are not followers of any sort, we just believe and agree with this switch. In November of 2013, Kanye slammed Nike old news at his show at MSG, bashing them as a business partner. His next move? HELLO ADIDAS. (If Adidas offered you a $10 million deal, you probably would too… am I right? Yup.)Kanye-Adidas

Come 2015, the University of Miami made the switch to Adidas from Nike as well. You may think, “why is UM so relevant? They haven’t won a football championship in years.”  Despite the lack of wins, UM is one of the most recognizable college brands along with Notre Dame, which also hasn’t won a championship in what seems like a century.  In addition, UM became the first college to sign with a brand aka creating the concept of a brand “owning” a school. universit-of-miami-drops-nike-and-signs-endorsement-deal-with-adidas

Back into pop culture now: from trend setting to 34 million insta followers and counting, everyone can love/hate to admit it, but Kylie Jenner has been killing the game.  She also happens to wear Adidas… almost all the time.  If you say you don’t want to look like the pictures below, you’re #lying.

And while we’re on the topic of Kardashians, we can’t forget the queen herself: Kim kim-kardashian-adidas-yeezy-boost-6Kardashian, aka world’s hottest MILF, who also rocks Adids. Do you thnk she got little Northie, world’s cutest celeb baby, a pair yet? Most definitely. And we can’t forget Kendall, who is always spotted wearing brands like Chanel and Fendi, who chose to add Adidas to her list of designers she rocks.

Now let’s get into the Stella McCartney line, one word: DOPE. Just by the fact that Stella was the creative director for the 2012 Olympics by adidas for Great Britain, you know she’s setting the stage high.  Especially since it was the first time ever that a major designer designed the apparel for a country’s team.  Her designs have set a new standard for the workout community and created a new world of athletic wear, allowing it to be a strong fashion statement.

And then there’s the average folk, such as ourselves, who have slowly adapted to loving Adidas.  From Adidas Sambas for soccer as a kid, to Stan Smith’s, to Yeezy’s, Adidas has made its mark on the scene and has proven itself as a prominent brand.  Stan Smith brought casual sneakers back in style, replaced converse, and made it socially acceptable to wear sneakers out at night.  What a relief for people with injuries who don’t want to wear heels every night… I know I’m happy, and so is my back.

Stay up to trend and rock your own style Adidas,

Nikki and Lana
